I have a m4 mbp running Sequoia 15.3. Before the upgrade to 15,3 I just connected a high quality HDMI cable to my Sony 4k TV and every thing just worked. Now on 15,3 my TV displays the message to choose mirror or extend display using a symbol that looks something like 2 boxes. I can’t find the place to make the setting. In settings/display the when connected to TV box is set to mirror entire screen. What other setting am I missing?

I think you need to select the device to send the Mirror information.
Select Control Center in the Menu bar, then Screen Mirroring which will bring up a list of devices for "Mirror or Extend to:". Select the TV in the displayed list.

An alternative is to select System Settings>Control Center>Screen Mirroring>Always Show in Menu Bar to get access to bring up a list of devices for "Mirror or Extend to:". Select the TV in the displayed list.
