Just rekindled my love for The Movies, but I can't seem to find mods for Mac, just Windows. Anyone got ideas?

Any modification for the PC version should work just as well (or badly) on the Mac. All you need to do is place the new data in the same locations in the Mac data folder as the PC data in the original instructions.

It has been quite a while but I know when the Mac version was in development I tested all the PC mods I could, they all worked just as well as the PC versions.

Be warned though some of the mods do have side effects on the PC and those side effects will also effect the Mac. Most of the side effects are minor visual glitches which effect the mod on all platforms.

Good Luck!

Yes, but...

...would you happen to know what the filepath is for installing mods on the Mac version? I can't find it and nothing I'm doing is working. And without the mods, this new Mac version I've bought is essentially useless.

You have to find the file path for the mods on the PC, then mount your data image (MoviesData.dmg) you will find the same data folder structure as the PC. You will then have to place the files into the correct locations and the mod will work.

Before you do the above you will need to convert the data image to a read/write image using Disk Utility. The data is set to read only so it is impossible for the average user to accidentally damage the game data. Damaged game data is the number one reason people have problems with games so by keeping all the data in a locked data image we have noticed a massive reduction in unhappy customers with problems.

I have created a video guide which shows how to do this, please see the link below. The video was made for Rome Total War but the process is the same for The Movies.
