I have LR4 and CS6 on my Mac HD (OS & Apps) drive, my photos are in My Lightroom folder on my separate internal data drive, and my LR4 cat and data are currently a few layers deep inside my Pictures/.../.../ folder.

I want to clean up some folders and also upgrade the OS and Apps drive to an SSD. Trying to determine precisely which LR4 files I can/should move to the SSD drive for improved performance.

Is this all I have to do? :

1) leave all RAW,psd, tiff, jpg where the are (if I move them, use LR4 to do it).
2) move only Lightroom4 Catalog.lrcat and Lightroom4CatalogPreviews.lrdat from their current location to a new folder on the SSD .
3) also point CS6 scratch disc to the SSD , assuming there is plenty of free space left.
4) Then launch LR4 by double-clicking one of those from their new location?
