Did a search but can't find the answer. I just got a new camera and downloaded pics into iPhoto. Under device it says "Unknown". I would like to put in the name of my camera there instead, but it won't let me change the word from Unknown that I can figure out. Anyone know how to correct this?

Does the camera mount/appear in Finder? Perhaps you can rename it from the Desktop icon? I think the name of the device is typically the name of the SD/card media...

No I don't see it in finder.

I just remember my Sony showing up by name and this new camera does not. Both have different SDHC cards.

Open iPhoto and go to Preferences. Change the 'Connecting Camera Opens' to 'No Application', then see if the Device mounts on the Desktop. If it does then you can rename the Device.
