How to ope a .wps file on a Mac?

Can someone please let me know I can open a .wps file on my Mac?

I believe that .wps is the extension for a Works document.

I have Office X, which will open the file, but the formatting is very bad. I know that Microsoft makes a free Works to Word plug-in for Windows, but not for the Mac.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
