What is the extension on the files you're trying to open? Is it just a ZIP file or something more like a RAR archive? You should be able to control-click > get info on the file to determine for sure.

it's a zip file. their names are 'Free Music- The Complete Myspace Collection.zip.001', .002 and .003

I use Cyberduck to open Zip files. It's free, or at least was when I downloaded it. You may have to rename the files to eliminate the ".001" so ".zip" is at the end of the file name.

I'm also wondering if a program like HJ split (or equivalent for OS X) would work to merge these into a single Zip file that can be extracted.

ok thanks y'all!
I have no idea how I did it but they're all in my itunes now.
thanks again :)
