How to open .avi and .bin files

I downloaded a video with an extension .avi but it was not opening with quicktime and a game with an extension.bin and with a cue file so what to do?
Pls help

VLC Player for .avi, the .bin and .cue files are an image (an exact copy of the contents in one file) of a CD/DVD, which needs to be mounted.

For further instructions use MRoogle (my and other signatures).
