Hello, I have a network drive that is used by a MacOS and Windows computer. In the subfolders of this disk, I have created "shortcuts" to the main folders. Unfortunately, if I create an ink shortcut, macOS will not open it. If I create an alias, Windows will not open it. How to reconcile this?

First, .lnk (lower-case L) is Windows shortcut files. It's a binary file containing path information to a file in the Windows file system. The two "shortcuts" are not compatible across the two different operating systems which use different file systems. Some background -

There are applications which convert one shortcut type to the other type. On macOS, there is a program called WinShortcutter which claims to allow one to open (i.e. follow) .lnk files after setting up a volume mapping. Never have used it so I can't endorse it. Caveat emptor.
