I want to transfer my files from an usb that I saved from my windows computer to my mac pro. When I put in the usb I open the "no name" disk, and I can access the folder called "source". There I can find several files called install.swm. How can I open them and access my files?

Thanks for the help.

That install.swm inside a sources folder sounds like you are looking at a Windows installer USB key. Those are not your data files.

Can you see any other folder on the USB key?

Yes, that's correct.

These are the following files that I can see when I open the usb:

Boot (folder)
Bootmgr (some file)
Bootmgr.efi
Efi (folder)
Reagent.xml
Sources

That does not look you have any personal files on there. Are you saying under Windows you copied some personal files onto this drive and not can't see then on your Mac?

Yes, I transfered some files (pictures, folders etc) from my windows 8 with my usb, and now I want to transfer the content to my mac and be able to access them and see them, but I don't see my files at all.

Yeah.... I don't get it. OS X can read but not write NTFS (Windows) format so you should be able to see anything you put on there in Windows. Can you plug the USB key back into the Windows machine to see if the files are really there.

Sorry, I don't have my windows anymore. Well, I tried my other usb stick which had other content transfered from my windows, and that one actually could access and read the files. But with my other usb it's like that. I'm pretty sure that the files should be there because I transfered it some days ago and the source folder seem to have the right size (meaning in gb).
