The way I organised my photos in iPhoto is that I had one smart album that contained all the photos without albums, and from time to time I would put them in their respective albums.

Now with Photos I have a lot of Events that I didn't use, I do not have a smart album option that would let me filter pictures not in albums and it's a total mess with events I didn't want and pictures I didn't put in albums before upgrading in 10.10.3.

I have 2 small kids and I take pictures all the time, without any order.

How can I organise pictures in albums that would be the easiest way or most common with the previous way I did it?

Thanks

Try this:

New album - >smart album -> "album" - "is not" - "any album" (or some similar wording, I dont have the english version). Does this make a smart album that shows all pictures without albums?
