Hi
I have downloaded some video files but I am unable to play them with Quicktime. I have tried some other, Chrome or chroma, wmv, xmbc, etc and especially VLC but all of them can't. File extensions are 'hdtv.xvid-xor.avi'.
Is there some problem with that extension, means that it's not a video file actually?
Can anyone help?
Thanks

VLC should play .avi files with no problem. something might be wrong with the file. just download a different file.

I concur with the previous post; just re-download it, since all that "hdtv.xvid" bollocks means you downloaded it less than legally ;)

You may want to consider downloading Perian, which is a plugin for QuickTime which enables it to play many additional file formats, including at least some of the ones mentioned in the original post.
