Hello, in one keynote slide, I want to show several movies being played at the same time. I dragged and dropped several movie clips on the slide. When I reached that slide in presentation, the videos sometimes did not start at the same time. Sometimes moving the mouse affects the playback of the videos. Perhaps my approach is not good. What is the best way to play several videos simultaneously in one slide? Thanks.

Add an "build" to each movie to simply start the movie, then click "More Options" in the Inspector to adjust the timings. Select all the ones but the first in that list and from the dropdown at the bottom choose "Automatically with build 1".

Thanks for the hint, Mal. My MBP has 2.66 GHz Core i7. How come when I played back the video clips simultaneously (there were six of them), the motions became sluggish? Sometimes it appeared that there were a series of very short pauses in all the clips during playback.

Thanks for the link but I am running only 6 videos on a MBP with i7, 8GB RAM and 512MB Nvidia GeForce GT 330M. The hardware should be able to handle it.

"Should" is a nice word. In your previous post you said it couldn't.

Your right, it should. I've just put 6 movie clips( a mix of DV, .mov, .mp4, .m4v of about 720x540) into a single Keynote slide and they all play together OK. There was a slight pause of about a nano second as each one started, but after that they all played smoothly.

I have a 2GHz, 2GB white MacBook, 10.6.8, so yours should be able to handle it.

Anybody knows possible sources for the pauses during playback? Thanks.
