I'm a new member to the site and I can't figure it out. I'm trying to include a screenshot in a post. The only option I see is to insert a link to a picture. That means a picture hosting site I guess. Although, I have followed the links to many pics on the site and it looks like they're being hosted right here on MacRumors.

Is it because I'm now at only post count #2 and there's a minimum before posting pics?

You should just be able to paste inside the message box or select the insert image button.👍

We recently had to restrict brand-new members from being able to attach images due to severe spam attacks using this method.

The requirements to gain the ability are very low, but I have manually adjusted your account to give you permission immediately.

We knew when we implemented it that it was going to be a trade-off inconveniencing new members who are frequently looking for help and thus have a need to upload screenshots versus stopping persistent spammers, and we'll continue to evaluate that trade-off based on the activity we're seeing so this is good feedback. :)

Hi, I am trying to finish my write up on my 5,1 with a RTX 5080. I’d like to attach pictures, would it be possible to extend the permission to me as well? Thanks

Hi there - I am a new member as well, but am trying to post a photo in a reply to a post. Is it possible to get permissions to post images? Happy to also follow the process to gain the ability to do so but not sure what they are.

Thank you!

You should be good to go for image uploads now.

Given the number of requests we've gotten for image upload permissions from new members, we've removed the restriction so everybody should again be able to upload images and attachments from the moment they register.

If we see spammers taking advantage of the functionality again, we may have to reimplement it, but we'll give this a shot to try to minimize the inconvenience on new members and our admins.
