How to prevent the MB to heat up when having it on your knees?

How are you guys working with your MacBooks when on the sofa or at the beach? I bought the a knee desk like this:

But the MB still becomes quite hot I wonder if there is a proper way to comfortably work with a Notebook outside in the summer in general?

It's going to get hot and heat up anything it's sitting on.

You could get a folding stand that will keep everything from touching you. Something like this.
