I was trying to view the content of a zip file, instead of unzipping it first. This feature is available on windows XP, but what about Mac OS?

It's worth noting that all these utilties do is uncompress the archive somewhere you can't see and present the contents. This decompression could be done in RAM on the fly (unlikely) or more likely to a temporary folder in /tmp.
