So I was talking to a former coworker the other day and she said that she was told by an Apple employee that the proper way to install iLife '11 is to first install Snow Leopard again, which would revert you back to 10.6.3, do every update thereafter, one after the other, until current, and then install iLife '11.

That seems a bit much and I'm wondering what the purpose of doing all that even is.

Did anybody else do it like that or can I just install iLife '11 and forget the rest?

She was told wrong. Just install iLife '11, but do run Software Update before you ever open iPhoto. Just in case.
