I created a hotspot with my wifi router software. But I heard there are hackers who would steal something through wireless network. What should I pay attention to keep hackers away?

Secure password. Use MAC address filtering if you're really paranoid.

To be honest, if hackers want your info, they're going to steal it and there is nothing you can do about it.

Enable WPA2 encryption and use a passcode consisting of at least 25 random characters. Even if it can be a pain, do *not* use shorter passcodes (since WPA is vulnerable to offline dictionary attacks when using short codes). Also, do *not* use the outdated WEP encryption that is still offered by many routers (can be easily broken in minutes).

Things like "hidden SSID" and Mac address filtering are completely useless.
