When you import your photos from the iPhone to iPhoto, it asks if you want to delete them after you do so.

How do you put a photo back on the iPhone, from iPhoto?

It doesn't allow me to drag photos bag to the phone.

Thanks!

If it works like the iPod touch, then you can make a folder for the photos you want to transfer, in iPhoto. When you then sync with your phone, you can choose to have that folder sync automatically, so that whatever you've got in that folder at any given time will end up on your phone.

If the iPhone doesn't work like the iPod touch in this way, I apologize and hope someone will correct me.

Connect your iPhone to your computer.
In iTunes, click on your phone in the left hand sidebar.
Go to the "photos" tab.
Set which photos you want to sync. You can select all photos, a number of recent events or whichever albums you want.

Job done!

putting pictures back on iPhone problem...

I tried syncing an album through the "Photos" tab in my iTunes I created of pictures I want to put back on my iPhone and it syncs it and everything but my pictures don't show up on my phone. It's so frustrating! Am I possibly doing something wrong?

Post a screenshot of your iTunes photo tab/page. You probably don't have that set up correctly.

I'm having the exact same problem! Damn this!!!
If you will tell me what you have done so far, and what you are stuck with, I'll try to help.
If you already have your photos imported to your computer, then it's probably a setting in Itunes.
Post a screenshot of your iTunes photo tab/page.

scp -r root@youriphoneip:/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/yourphotofolder/ ./
then
use alpine or your passwd

I did this. I put the pics from my iPhone unto iPhoto and then back unto my phone. It works fine, except when I try to upload them onto Foap (look it up!) it says they need to be at least 1000px height or width (and they aren't). When I take pictures and upload them straight to foap, it does work. I'm guessing when iPhone gets them from iPhoto it diminishes the quality a little bit. Is there some way to increase the quality at some step or to reverse the part when you say "Remove photos from phone" when you are uploading photos into iPhoto from your phone.:confused::(
