How to record Slingplayer streams

Hi
I want to be able to watch tv programmes offline on my iphone.
I thought if I bought a slingplayer I could send it to my imac over home my network and then record the stream, convert to an iphone format and add to itunes library to sync with my iphone.

The bit that i'm not sure about is the recording of the stream. Does anyone know of any software that does this? Or another solution?
