How to reformat OS X RAID disks on Windows XP

I've sold a pair of external USB hard drives that I was using under OS X (striped RAID) on eBay to a Windows XP user. How can he reformat these drives for use with Windows? The drives appear as 'Protected' in the manager, with the option to reformat greyed out.

Any help appreciated.
