how to reinstall lion 10.7.2 in macbook air mid 2011

hi

how to reinstall lion 10.7.2 in macbook air (mid 2011)

(if don't have OS X Lion USB thumb drives)

here's the easiest way to do it and always have it on hand on a usb stick so you don't have to go thru the endless wait of downloading Lion again and again from the net each time you wish to do a fresh install.

you will need to download Lion once more to achieve this, and you will need to log into the AppStore with your Apple ID - if you don't have one it's a snack to create one and also free.
Lion will cost you a few bucks, but as you already own a Mac that shipped with it, it should be free.

re-read the link
download your copy of Lion specific to your Mac to the external drive as described - either free or whatever.
now you have a MBAir specific install media.

after that you can down load the combo update to take you to 10.7.1 or 10.7.2 or whatever happens to be the latest - separately

So put in your Apple ID. What's the problem with doing that? It's probably trying to connect to Apple's server to verify what you are doing.

Just all AppleCare. I didn't have this problem last week. With 10.7.2

Just buy it from the app store, it's only 29 bucks and is a lot less headaches.

Just one thing make sure you hold down the option key when you launch the app store and continue to hold it as you navigate and buy lion or you'll get the whole "it's already installed, or up to date thing"

Once it starts download just stop it, reboot into recovery, do the apple id thing and bamo it downloads off the web and installs. It's super easy and worth it.

My 2cents.

Hi,

I have the same problem as the original poster.

Have you actually tried this with the new MacBook Air?
Don't want to pay again for something I already paid for
but I'm getting desperate... Just want to make sure the downloaded Lion via Recovery HD will work on the new MacBook Air.

Thanks.
