How to reinstall Mavericks if Yosemite can't install

I am going to reinstall Mavericks because I have this error while trying to install Yosemite:

File system verify or repair failed


I have find a way to download again mavericks thru the app store, you have to go to purchases and find mavericks, then I will use diskmaker x to make a boot usb drive.
