I am considering installing as owc ssd hard drive in a new 2011 13 inch macbook pro. I would like someone to detail the steps from the moment I turn the computer on and then to reinstall the OS and format the new hard drive. I will not be copying any data from the old hard drive.

The links above will help you a lot, but its really not too hard. And if you mess anything up its quite easy to restart. Basically, just pop the dvd in the drive, hold down the option key and press the power button. Then the boot menu comes up wait for the picture of the dvd to show up then use the keyboard to select it. Press enter and go make a cup of coffee. In about 5 minutes the installer will launch. When it does look at the menu bar and find the disk utility. Format your new ssd as you wish and exit the utility. Then continue the installer.
