All Devices How to remove downloads in files

Hi, If I have docs stored in iCloud which are not downloaded to my iOS devices yet, a download cloud icon appears. Once pressed, it downloads the docs to my device. If I decide to not keep it locally on my device how to I remove the download so the icon appears again and it doesn't take local space away?
