I'm sure I had this option before, but now I dont see it anymore. I rightclick on any file or folder and there is no "rename" option in the popup menu. Can someone help me?
 
Easiest way is probably to select the file, then click again on the filename.

Yeah, using the Return key is easiest and it even leaves the extension alone so you can just type in the name of the file. So if it's a PDF, when you hit Return it will leave the .pdf extension alone.
The Windows to Mac transition will be a lot easier than you think as you can see so far.:)
 
yeah i making that transistion too. i used to have a mac over 10 years ago so i still remember lots of stuff. but i'm still an avid pc user since my laptop is xp. but renaming a file, i used to use the F2 key a lot but don't work in OSX so i just use the Return key.
