I have a mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13.3". I've used it extensively, and after carrying it around in my book bag for the past few years, the hinge cover has started to look pretty sad. There is a crack on the top (the two sides frequently start to separate), and the bottom has started to chip. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the Apple Care.

After looking around, I have found a few replacement hinge cover's on eBay, and before buying them, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience replacing the cover? Was it overly difficult to replace?

I'm not afraid to take my computer apart to replace it, I just want to make sure that it'll work in the end.

Thanks.

The black part that "connects" the screen to the body of the computer. Small, black strip.
