On the MacOS 26 product page they show this:

However, I can't get these to work.

I open Spotlight and switch to the actions "tab" with command-3 and tried typing "open" and "play" I get "No result found". Do I need to create Shortcuts to support these or are they suppose to be built in?

If I look through the list of actions I don't see any to play music or open files with Finder.

Thanks.

The screenshot looks like it's from the Shortcuts app.

So yes, you need to create a Shortcut to do this. You can pin a shortcut folder to the menu bar to make it easier to access, or you can run the shortcut from Spotlight (or, of course, the Shortcuts app).

Ahh yes, based on where the screenshot was on the marketing page I thought this was something in the new Spotlight.
