How to reset Mac Mini to default/factory settings?

I have a mid-2011 Mac Mini and I'm looking to sell it. How would I go about wiping the HDD and restoring it?

By holding down Command-R during startup, Lion automatically boots from its recovery partition rather than its primary day-to-day partition.

The recovery partition allows you to run Disk Utility, to erase your primary drive, re-install a fresh copy of Lion.

Isn't this so much easier then apple providing us with a $5 usb stick with mountain lion...errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
