Hi all,

I don't know if I installed something "rogue" in cydia or not, but somehow my root password seems to have changed from what I had it set to. I have tried it repeatedly, including the default "alpine" password but I cannot login as root.

Is there any way to reset the root password?

Thanks!

if there would be a way to "reset" your root password it would defeat the propose of having a password at all. You need to restore the Firmware.

The OP says he changed the root password to something himself already before the issue happened...

?

Yes, In order to change it you need to "Current" root password, so he used the defualt when he change it the first time, but if you don't know the current password there is not way around that (and for a good reason, otherwise as i said it would defeat the idea of having a root password at all)
