How To Reset Spotlight on iPhone

A lot of my old stuff is showing up...how do I erase it?

Have you tried simply rebooting the phone?

When I go to Search iPhone by scrolling to the left it is showing stuff that can't be on my phone anymore. For example, it shows a text message to my girlfriend that isn't on my phone anymore. Or a draft of an email I sent her that isn't there anymore.

I went through everything and deleted it but it still shows up.

Is there a way to reset/update the search function?

Go to Settings, General, Spotlight Search, and uncheck all the items. Wait for a bit, then go back and check them all again. That worked for me.
