Last week, my dashboard icon in the dock disappeared in a puff of smoke. I've not been able to restore it back the way it was before (as an icon in the doc).

I've tried to add it as a login app, but of course it opens up on login. When I run the app, I can't right click on the dock item and choose "keep in dock"

So, how can I get it back??

Gah. Knew it would be simple like that.

Thanks! :D

Restoring dashboard from dock of leopard

I did read the suggestion to drag the dashboard from apps to the dock, but dashboard isn't there either/
Any suggestions? Thanks

Does it launch when you tap the gray trackball of the connected Mighty Mouse? Or the equivalent trackpad motion? Can you find the Dashboard application with a Spotlight search? If the answer to all 3 is no, then you may have to actually reinstall the OS or use Pacifist to find the package Dashboard is bundled with to put it back on the computer.
