I just purchased a new MBP and before selling my old PB (prior to the MBP purchase) I threw almost everything from it to an external HDD. I did it in a messy fashion since I was in a hurry but I believe I have everything.

I want to recover my bookmarks, my keychain settings, emails, etc, but I don't know where to look for them

Any enlightenment on the matter will be highly appreciated.

Take a look in:

/users/'yourname'/library

and

/users/'yourname'/library/preferences

No luck... I go from the /import tab on Safary or Entourage/ to the 'preferences' in my users in the external but nothing highlights to let me import...

You actually have to drag the files from your backed up homefolder>library>safari and homefolder>library>preferences into your Macbook Pro's home folder to restore the settings. Same with homefolder>library>mail. Then just open the programs up and the info should be in them.
