So this happened about 2 months ago.

I have an old hand-me-down iPhone 1 that I used as a iPod Touch. It was working just fine, it had been bought right after the iPhone 1 came out and then one day it died, which happens a lot since I don't get a lot of time to charge it. I plugged it in when I got home and then it showed the silver apple, then as soon as it showed my home screen, it would shut down again, and keep doing this on a loop, until I finally just unplugged it and it has been sitting on my desk, mega dead for a while. Until i wondered if I could actually revive it.

Is there any hope for it? I searched around on the forums for a while but found nothing like this.

Thanks

You could try the usual restore as new steps, but it might just be time to let it go to Apple heaven !
