Hi - I bought a macbook tonight but it has 50% of its HD set up with a Vista partition. I would like to axe that partition. I see I can erase the volume in Disc Utilities, but will that leave an empty partition on my HD or will it get rid of the partition so I have the full 100GB for mac os? I am hoping for the latter. How do I make the latter occur if erasing the partition does not give me the vista owned space?

Removing a partition will give you back the space. It might be simpler to do so through Boot Camp Assistant rather than Disk utility - just depends on what you are comfortable dealing with.

I'm not comfortable with either. I was just planning on clicking the erase button with DU, after selecting the windows partition... No good?
