Hey guys,

I have a 2008 MBP with a TON of problems, but out of warranty. Since the logic board is so problematic and Apple is repairing defective MBP's with 8600M's for free, my plan is to ruin the video card so Apple will replace the logic board for free.

So, any suggestions on how to do this?

I'm running the OpenCL Benchmarking Tool, I don't know if it's effective or not :p

Use smc fan controller and turn your fans down to the slowest they go. Make it so that your computer won't kick the fans on until the utmost hottest temperatures. Sit you laptop on a pillow and run the most gpu intensive benchmark and let it repeat until your laptop is burnt. LOL

Not really illegal, they sold defective hardware, it was going to die sooner or later, whether the rest of the computer was damaged or not. I was simply asking for the most GPU intensive tasks.

I just found out that I apparently have AppleCare on it until April 2011, so I'm set :)

Thanks for everybody who helped! :D
