Hello forum, I have an iMac 2019 in my office and a new MBP 16" at home. Can I access the iMac from home to work on software for which i have a single license only (and cannot run on the MBP)? thanks.

A question that your company's IT department should be able to answer.

Many companies enforce restrictions on what outside systems can access internal systems and what can be done.

The folks here do not have any of the answers about your company's specific policies and procedures.

Thanks,
I'll ask the guy (although he's a PC person, usually doesn't understand the Apple systems)

Ask may not be enough. It is easier to say NO for IT to generic question ("we do not provide such access").
You should know, which options you have and inquire about those ("is this service possible?"). Jump Desktop is one solution, Teamviewer and Logmein are other (I suspect there are many more). All cost money. You can also try to use vnc (which is free) and NoMachine (you may be able to get by with the free version), but those are more likely to pose issues with firewalls and addresses. Unluckily, BackToMac or whatever that was called service using iCloud has been killed some time ago by Apple...
