hey guys,

I made a torrent on my MBP and would like to start seeding on my old 350MHz iMac. I downloaded transmission 0.4.0 and now don't really know how to tell it to recognize that it already has the file and doesn't have to download it.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm also going to try a later version of transmission to see if that helps.

still would like to know how to do that, maybe a different client?

anyway, can anyone tell me if I can move a torrent I'm seeding and then continue seeding it?

Any help would be very nice.

Open the torrent file with transmission
It's going to ask you where you would like to save the file

Select the directory where the already existing data is.
Instead of downloading the file it will realize it is already present, check it to make sure it's correct, then it will start seeding.

Sorry for the necropost, but I'm trying to seed a torrent from my network drive that I downloaded on another computer using the steps above, and it gives me this error:

"The destination directory and root data directory have the same name.

If you are attempting to use already existing date, the rood data directory should be inside the destination directory."

Is there a file missing in the folder that I've got the torrent in?
