How to select between 802.11g & n on a MB using Airport Extreme Base station?

Is there a way to force a Mac to use the g or n standard when connecting to an Airport Extreme Base Station?

Right now, I think my MB is using the g, because the range is pretty lame.

Any clues would be great! :)
