Hi guys,

I want to connect my Mac Mini M4 to a 65-inch Samsung 4K TV via HDMI. But I am facing some scaling issues.

By default the display settings are set to 1920x1080p. But the font size is too small. If I select 1280 x 720, it is as big as I want it to be, but it looks too blurry.

What should I do?

Is BetterDisplay the solution?

Everything is working correctly. If you select a lower screen of course you're going to get blurrier text. It's a big TV. Sit back a bit further and everything will be clear.

Are you trying "1280x720" or "looks like 1280x720"? The second should look much better. A shame macOS can't render @3x like iOS, that would be perfect for you.

I choose the Resolution in the Display Settings to be 1280×720P. However, when I look in the graphics settings, the actual output is no longer 3840×2160, but only 2560×1440P.

Since I have a 4K TV, I want 4K resolution, which seems to start only when I select 1920×1080P or higher.

That would be sad to watch 4K Videos in only 1440P real resolution, if I choose 1280×720P....

Are there any solutions/Softwares to make the font size bigger when using 1920×1080P? 😢🥺

I have the same TV setup as you with a 65 inch Samsung TV connected to my M2 Mini so interested to see what you find are the best settings. I normally have the 'larger text' display setting on as I'm sitting on sofa about 10ft from the TV, but swapping to 'more space' and comparing the text at the end of this 4k video, there is a definite difference in the sharpness of the text edges with the 'larger text' option being a bit more fuzzy. Would be nice to find a way to get the full sharpness of 4k but be able to have the text/UI at a readable size. 👍
