How to send message on OS3?

I cant seem to find my contacts. When i click on messages i can only reply to existing messages. I cant seem to figure out how to initiate a new one. Thx

From the main messages screen, force touch and select new message

The easiest way is to just use "Hey Siri."

I also have my Messages app loaded in the new dock, so when I open that I can easily select the existing conversations. But if I need to initiate a new conversation with someone who isn't already in that list, it's fastest to use Siri.
