I use iMovie 06 to put together numbers of video clips, then export to iDVD. The problem is that there isn't the equivalent of a VU meter to ensure you have a consistent level of sound, saturated to the highest achievable level, without distortion. (Similar to how you'd make tapes / CDs on a recorder).

Does anyone know of any affordable programs that I can run a .dv file through to set my clips to the correct and consistent volume level prior to importing them to iMovie ? Just monitoring it all through the internal speakers isn't much fun on my G4 Powerbook. Nor is trial burning and then resetting later as it wastes an incredible amount of time, not to mention discs.

Thanks ...:(
