As far as I know, I should be able to set keyboard brightness to automatic mode depending on ambient light. But I didn't figured out yet, how to do that. In Preferences I have checked an option "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light" as you can see in the picture below. But still nothing happens.

Can you give me some advice how to do that?

Your webcam acts as an ambiant light sensor. Cover it and your keyboard should light up and your screen should dim.

Usually, you'll have the keyboard backlight turn on at a certain level of light, at that level, you can adjust how much or how little light you'd like. When the computer reaches that level of light again in the future, it will default to the setting you have used in the past, then adjust according to variations in lighting.

As far as light intensity, it is done through your keyboard, not through system preferences, with F5 and F6.

I don't understand exactly.

First, I must have that box from the previous picture checked on, if I want that feature of auto adjusting brightness?

And then, let say I manually adjust brightness (F5 / F6 buttons) to full.

Now, in bright area the keyboard should not be lighted. And if I cover the sensor (camera) or turn the light off, it should become illuminated to full range. ??

I tried many different options, but never saw any effect.
