Also Yahoo has a FAQ/Help site which offers the POP3 settings. I'm not sure about IMAP though.

Yahoo! does not provide POP access for the free email accounts. To get POP access you need to have one of the paid Yahoo! Mail Plus accounts.

Yahoo! Help: Do I have to sign up for Yahoo! Mail Plus to POP my mail?

Since when? I thought it was IMAP maybe, as I have used the POP3 access via Mail in Tiger and Leopard, ergo 2005 to 2008.

I've read your link, and I all can think is: those stupid sheepsmeggers.

I don't know that Yahoo! even offers IMAP, but the POP access used to be free and they notified everyone that it was only going to be a offered with the Yahoo! Mail Plus for a fee. It's been quite a while as I recall.

I just Googled it and it looks like the free POP service was discontinued in 2002, hard to believe it's been that long.

I have read that there is a way, by using some "hacks" and other programs, but it never worked for me. You may want to research it.
