Hi
I've been fighting with a Time Capsule that I just purchased. I want to use it just as a backup device. Right now I have an ethernet cable from my router to one of the LAN ports on the TC and have the TC settings as "off" for Internet and "Off (Bridge mode)" for the Network tab. This seems to allow me to do a backup from my imac to the TC.

I had it plugged into the WAN port before and was trying settings off and on but it was messing up my regular wifi and making the internet connection to the imac very slow.

I also have a new NAS that I am trying to figure out and will be hooked to my main router. Is it going to be possible for the TC to backup the NAS, Imac and an ipad? How do I hook/set things up?

Thanks much for the help.

Sorry - never mind. Thought I needed a separate router. Am now using TC as the router and all is well.

No iOS device so far is able to use TC directly as storage in any way.
To achieve your backup objective, you can back them up in iTunes and have your computer backed up to TC.
