how to share screens on Ichat

I am trying to share screens with a friend who has a macbook and I have an Imac. She is able to share her screen but mine is unable. I checked all the settings and I am allowed to do it, and it is turned on.

It seems like I remember the need to fiddle with some of the settings under system preferences under "sharing" like screen sharing and file sharing.
