Hi everyone!

That's it in a nutshell ! How to SIM Unlock a Japanese iPhone 4 for use in England?

I have friends who will move to England to live and wife uses an iPhone 4 in Japan. She says it is sim locked, and she would like to use it here with a pay and go sim card.

Any advice welcomed!

Also any advice on best network deal for a pay and go sim if it can be sim unlocked.

An IMEI unlock or Turbo Sim. I would contact your Japanese carrier and ask if they offer unlocks.

I'm not 100% sure about iP4 but I think that the SIM lock is domestic only. If you are outside Japan you can use different SIM.

I did that one year ago with my iPad 2 in Switzerland. Replaced my SoftBank SIM with a prepaid SIM from a local provider. Worked without any unlock.

Try to call SoftBank might be a good idea.

Softbank will not do a sim unlock so my friend will check out the turbo-sim and also if the phone will work with a UK sim card..
