I'm a recent switcher, and of course would never voluntarily go back to a PC. Love everything about the Mac for the most part.

One thing that has bugged me: In Windows File Explorer, when browsing files, all the folders are at the top (in alpha order), then the files are sorted below that in alpha order.

In Finder, the folders are mixed in so everything is alpha all together.

I would prefer seeing all my folders at the top.

Is there a setting that controls this?

Sort by "Kind"

Thanks for the help.

I should've been more clear.

The place it bugs me is when I'm doing a SAVE AS and browsing through folder hierarchies to find the place I want to save the file. In that situation, I don't think I can sort by "kind" or anything else.

I too miss this feature from finder. I'd like to sort by date but have all the folders at the TOP or BOTTOM like windows explorer. Sorting by KIND doesn't work if you have a load of files which are mixed up because you have to hunt your way though to find what you are looking for anyway.

Buy Path Finder. It does the folder sorting like Windows. The "Kind" sorting is just a hack and not as good.
