It's deadly slow.... even with 8GB RAM and a 2.4ghz. I know, it's a 10 year old machine but other than attempting to max out to 16GB RAM, is there any way to boost this sucker?

You can put an SSD into it and it will speed up some things.
But at 10 years old... it's really time to be looking for a replacement...

It is dead slow because it uses a Core 2 Duo processor. Core 2 Duo is old and slow in respect to the more modern Core i series 8th gen processor in the current iteration of the Mini. You could put in a SSD and that will reduce boot times and application launching times, but it will not solve your problems browsing heavy duty websites that are heavily bloated with ads and trackers. I have a Macbook Pro 2009 and it is running a slightly faster processor than your Mini and yet, with the SSD and enough RAM, it is deadly slow compared to my Mac Pro or my new Win 10 gaming PC with the latest gen processor. Websites appear almost instantly on both my Mac Pro and Win 10 gaming PC, whereas with my Macbook Pro 2009, I have to wait minutes on end for the same sites to appear on screen even with using a modern browser with adblocks. Even video and image editing on both my Mac Pro and my PC gaming machine give me so much pleasure, whereas there will be a lot of hair pulling and nail biting with my older macs. The same with the 2011 Mini and even my Macbook Air. It does pay to have a more modern machine if browsing the net is your priority.
