hi,
just got my touch from the us. it connects to itunes, shows up there as device, it sync, etc. BUT: it does not start up!! even after eject, it simply shows the "connect-to-itunes" picture, nothing else.

tried reboot, etc nothing helped...

any hints?????

thanks,
chris

Do you have iTunes 7.4.2 installed & OSX 10.4.10? It needs both to talk to the Touch...

i tried restore. after that, it worked for 10 seconds, than it returns to the "conntect-to-itunes" screen (or on pressing home)...

any more hints?

what is with GodRumors making those stupid comments

sorry man i have no idea how to solve ur issue

Just as information for everybody who experience the same problem, i got it solved.

Reason was: iPod from US, Laptop for 1st sync from Germany with non english-locale....

I went to a friend who runs his xp in english, plugged it and viola: from that points it works as expected. I can now easily sync, etc even with my non
english windows. Seems to be a one-time-activation requirement... strange and nasty.
