I am currently getting eBay notifications on both my iphone 5 and my wife's iPhone 4S. The 4s was my old iphone.

I have signed out of my eBay account on the 4s but I still get notifications on it. I have also deleted the eBay app and reinstalled but still get notifications.

How do I stop my wife's iPhone 4S from getting my ebay notifications?

What iOS version is the 4S on? In iOS 6 you can turn off notifications for the eBay app under settings - notifications. Just scroll down to eBay and turn off notifications. It is probably still giving notifications because both phones are synced to the same iTunes account/library, and the eBay account/notification settings are stored/shared there. You deleted the app from the phone, but when you reinstalled it, after the next sync with iTunes it restored the notification settings for your eBay account.

Both iPhones are on latest ios 6.01. The eBay app was deleted and reinstalled but there was no iTunes sync between or after the process. Both iPhones are linked to the same apple Id account.

How do i go about making the iPhones separate and unique regarding the eBay notifications? I know how to turn off notifications for eBay but that seems ridiculous because she or any family member could turn them back on even though they are not signed into my eBay account and receive my notifications.

Maybe try signing out of the eBay account (in the app) you don't want to receive notifications on, and sign in with a different account?

I signed out of my ebay account on the 4S. My wife does not have an eBay account and she still receives my eBay notifications.

Somehow my eBay notifications are still linked to her iPhone 4S. Tonight I will try to delete the eBay app without reinstalling it and see if it still gets the notifications. Very bizarre.

My wife's iphone 4S is still getting my ebay notifications. I have signed out of the Ebay app on her 4S, turned off all Ebay notifications in the notification center, and did a reboot of the phone. Nothing works. It's bizarre that the notification center has no control over ebay notifications.

The only way to stop the notifications is actually deleting the ebay app entirely off her iphone 4s.

Is this an ebay app bug? any ideas?

If she doesn't have an account, why worry about it? Delete the app from her phone and be done with it.

Well, what if I sell her phone? I don't want the buyer getting my eBay messages. Plus lets face it, it's a nasty security issue and/or bug.

I have the same issue even AFTER deleting the ebay app from my phone completely. What I've figured out is that the beeping (notification) is the result of an ebay email coming through. What's really crazy is the email on my phone is manual checking only meaning I NEVER get emails on it unless I manually check with the exception of ebay emails. They push their way into my iphone inbox somehow. It's really crazy and annoying.

I too am suffering with this bug. I signed into eBay on my mums iPad to show them something. I signed out and closed the app, but now she gets all the alerts for my account! I've tried deleting the app but nothing yet has worked. The only thing I can think of is to create her an account and sign in with it, in the hope it overwrites my own notifications. Any other ideas??

How I fixed it.....

Turns out that in my case the answer was pretty simple and embarrassing, but there's no wonder I missed it.

What was happening was ebay was sending update emails to my .mac account (an account I don't normally use) and the account was setup as PUSH (vs Fetch like my normal email account).

So the Alert was hearing was emails being sent to an account I never use (.mac). Changing that account to Fetch vs. Push solved it.

I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER gave eBay my .mac address. My guess is when you install the app it links to your Apple email somehow.

Hope this helps.

I don't have a .mac address. I think it somehow tied to a unique hardware identifier for the phone.
